Aurora wings new launch

Hi there

Beautiful launch showcase at Aurora Wings this weekend with this lovely mermaid image. I decided to make a post-it note holder with it. The image is coloured with Copics (I'm still practising with the colour blends, hence the crazy blue hair!)

See more inspiration at the Aurora wings showcase blog and if you would like to purchase this digi, it is available via the etsy shop here

Some great discounts this weekend too...!

Weeping Rose - Aurora Wings

Hi there

Another double showcase at Aurora Wings this weekend with two beautiful rose inspired images. Both are beautiful but I decided to work with this one because I always find it difficult to make sympathy cards. The image is so tasteful and I thought it fitted the poem so well

Its been coloured with copics (new pens courtesy of the ebay fairy!) which I'm still getting to grips with.

See more inspiration at the Aurora wings showcase blog and if you would like to purchase this digi, it is available via the etsy shop here, and the other new image is available here

Queen of Seasons

Hi there

New launch weekend over at Aurora Wings today!!!

This lovely image is from the snow queen range but I'm not ready to head into winter yet so decided to colour her up in warm autumnal shades. I ran out of time but think she would work equally well in summer colours too as well as whites and blues for a winter snow theme.... maybe I'll try those over the weekend :)

This image can be purchased from the Aurora Wings Etsy shop

There's more than this image launching on the weekend though - have a look on the showcase designer blog too for other new launches and inspiration!

Lastly check out the Aurora Wings Facebook page for a change to win a couple of digis.....

Celebration at Aurora Wings

Hi there

An extra digi launch over at Aurora Wings today for a special celebration!
How beautiful is this image - love the sketchy style of it!
I was originally going to colour it with colour pencils, however as mine are hiding from me, I've used promarkers instead. I decided on cool grey tones with very pale lilacs and a little pop of maroon. I'm experimenting with colouring in cheeks to show more chiselled features and the cool greys lend themselves so well for this as they blend beautifully

You can find this digi at the Aurora Wings Website & Etsy Shop. See more inspiration at the Aurora Wings Showcase Designers Blog

Experimenting with craft artist 2

Hi there

A digital scrapbook project from me this week for my Crafty Girlz blog DT project
The frame digi is from scrap n dipity. I've used one of the metal styles in scrap artist 2 to colour the frame and layered with a transparent version of the same digi on top so the the lines subtly come through. The cute sprite image is from aurora wings and was just launched last month.

Vintage

Hi there

This is my DT project for crafting from the heart, using an image from Pinky Dolls
There's something about this image that reminds me of a stationary range that was very populate when I was a child, I decided to colour it up in a similar style, i.e. very minimal colour pencil shading.
I've then added it to digital embellishments in a vintage style using serif

Friday 5 February 2016

Lady of the Sea

Hi there

What a fabulous new launch of digis from Mitzi at Aurora Wings today!

I haven't used colour pencils since school but thought I'd try them out on this pretty image, the Derwent coloursoft range is very bendable and the front of this card actually started life as a blank white page. The background was softened further with distress inks.

I thought the poem fitted the image perfectly - it reads "Darwin may have been quite correct in his theory that Man descended from the apes in the forest, but surely women rose from the frothy sea as resplendent as Aphrodite on her scalloped chariot"

The digi can be purchased from the Aurora wings website or etsy shop. Use the code DIGIJOY to save 20% on orders over $5 this weekend or if you are buying both the mermaid new releases, use the code OCEAN2 to get 50% of the 2nd new release digi
